Getting started
Updated 11 October 2026
Snod is one app with four small apps inside: Tasks, Calendar, Notes and Routines. They sit as tiles on a home screen you arrange yourself, and everything works offline. Here’s how to get going.
Install Snod
Snod is an Android app from Google Play. Right now it’s in a closed test, so Google Play only shows it to people who have joined. In Chrome, with the Google account your phone uses: join the testers’ group, then become a tester and install Snod. Testing Snod has the steps in full. Snod is planned for Google Play in the UK in November 2026.

There’s no password to remember. Choose one of two ways:
- Sign in with Google. In the Android app, your phone shows its Google accounts: pick one. On a laptop, it’s the Google button on the sign-in screen.
- Continue with email. Type your email address and Snod emails you an 8-digit code. Type the code in, and Snod signs you in as soon as all eight digits are there. A code works for 5 minutes.
The first time you sign in, Snod makes your account. Both ways lead to the same account when the email address is the same. Code not arriving? See sign-in problems.
The welcome
The first time you sign in, a short welcome sets Snod up with you in six steps: your apps, Brae, your week and clock, and reminders. Skip leaves at any step and keeps what you’ve chosen so far. It can start you off with a few examples (a task, a note and an event); Settings → Data and privacy → Clear examples takes them away again.
To see it again: Settings → Help and feedback → Show the welcome again. It only adds things, so nothing you’ve made is lost.
The home screen and tiles
Your home screen is made of tiles: one for each app you add, and the Focus timer. Along the top are the Snod mark and your profile’s name, then Search, Edit, Add (+) and More (⋯). Along the bottom is the dock: Home, your apps and Settings, with Brae beside them on a phone.
- Add a tile: press + at the top and choose from Apps and Widgets.
- Open an app from its tile: press the tile’s ⤢.
- Change a tile: its ⋯ (or a right-click on a computer) has Rename, Colour and text size, Tile settings, Hide and Remove. Tile settings choose what a tile shows: a Calendar tile can show a month, an agenda or today, for example.
Edit your home screen
Press Edit to move, resize, hide or remove tiles. On a phone, hold a tile, then drag it; on a computer, drag it anywhere and drag a corner to resize it. Done (or Esc on a computer) keeps the changes; Cancel puts every tile back where it was.
Profiles: more than one home screen
A profile is a home screen of its own: one for work and one for the weekend, say, switching by itself on the days and times you choose. Press the profile’s name at the top to switch, or to make a new one.
There’s much more you can change: what every tile shows, colours and looks, profiles, each device’s own layout and the dock. It’s all in Your home screen.
On a laptop or PC
Snod also runs in Chrome or Edge at app.snod.app. Sign in with the same account as your phone and they stay in step. Install Snod on this computer (in Settings → About, or the home screen’s ⋯ menu, while the browser offers it) gives it its own window and icon, and once it has opened there it works offline too. Press ? for every keyboard shortcut.
Coming from Google Tasks or Calendar
Moving from Google Tasks and Calendar shows how to bring across what you still need, a line at a time. What Snod doesn’t do yet says plainly what isn’t here, and what to do instead.
Help inside Snod
Every app has a Help button with short demos, and Settings → Help and feedback lists every guide. Search (the magnifier at the top, or Ctrl K on a computer) finds your things and the guides that explain them.
