Troubleshooting
Updated 10 October 2026
Something not working? Here are the usual fixes, most likely first.
Google Play says “Item not found”
While Snod is in its closed test, Google Play only shows it to Google accounts that have joined the test. Try these in order:
- Accept the invite first. Join the testers’ group at groups.google.com/g/snod-testers/about, then open play.google.com/apps/testing/app.snod.android in Chrome and press Become a tester, both with the same Google account (how to join, step by step).
- Check the Play Store’s account. In the Play Store app, press your profile picture at the top right. It must be the Google account you joined with: switch to it if it isn’t.
- Give it a few minutes. Google Play usually shows Snod a few minutes after you become a tester, sometimes longer. Then open the testing link again.
- Install from a computer. Open the testing link in a browser on a computer, signed in with the same Google account, and follow it to Snod on Google Play (play.google.com). Choose Install and pick your phone: Snod installs there.
Sign-in problems
The sign-in code hasn’t arrived
- Look in your spam or junk folder for an email from Snod whose subject starts “Your Snod code is”.
- Check the email address on the screen. If it’s wrong, press Use a different email.
- Give it a minute: emails can take a little while. Send a new code is ready two minutes after the last one (the button counts down). If you have more than one code, use the newest.
- A code works for 5 minutes. After that, press Send a new code.
Snod shows a message about new accounts
Every new account goes through a short check first. If it says:
- “Please use your usual email address. Snod doesn’t accept throwaway addresses.” Use your everyday email address.
- “Lots of people are joining Snod right now. Please try again in an hour.” Try again in an hour.
- “Snod isn’t taking new accounts at the moment. Please try again later.” New accounts are paused for a while. If you already have an account, you can sign in as usual.
Sign in with Google doesn’t work
Choose Continue with email instead, with your Google account’s email address: Snod sends a code, and it signs you in to the same Snod account.
Snod signed me out
After six months without using Snod on a device, you need to sign in again. Nothing on the device is lost: sign in with the same email, and anything that was waiting uploads. Signing in there with a different email clears the device, and Snod warns you first.
If your account was deleted, every device you were signed in on signs out and clears its copy, and the sign-in screen says why.
Changes not syncing
The first line of the home screen’s ⋯ menu says where things stand:
- All changes saved: everything is in your account.
- Saving changes…: they’re on their way.
- Offline. Changes will sync when you’re back online. With “1 change waiting” (or more) under it: your changes are safe on this device and go up by themselves when there’s a connection. There’s nothing to do.
- Snod can’t reach its server: your changes are safe on this device, and Snod keeps trying until they send.
- 1 change couldn’t be saved. See why: the server turned one change down. See why says what it was and why. The rest still upload.
Please don’t sign out while changes are waiting: signing out would remove them from the device, which is why Snod asks first. If changes keep waiting for more than a few minutes on a good connection, send feedback with Include technical details switched on, or email us.
Reminders not arriving
On an Android phone, check these in order:
- Notifications allowed. At the top of Settings → Notifications and Brae, Phone notifications and On-time reminders should both say On. If one doesn’t, press Turn on.
- Battery saving. Some phones put apps to sleep to save battery, and a sleeping app’s reminders can arrive late or not at all. On the same page, open Not getting reminders?, press Open battery settings, and set Snod to Unrestricted (or Don’t optimise). Samsung phones also have a list of sleeping apps: keep Snod off it.
- The reminder itself. An event needs a reminder (new events get one 10 minutes before), and routine reminders start switched off: Settings → Routines → Reminders.
- Quiet hours and Do Not Disturb. During Brae’s quiet hours, notifications wait until the end, then arrive as one. Snod also follows Do Not Disturb.
On a computer, reminders only arrive while Snod is open: switch on Desktop notifications in Settings → Notifications and Brae.
Snod won’t open or load
- “Snod couldn’t load.” Check your internet connection and press Retry: Snod fetches what failed and starts again.
- “Snod hit a problem.” Your things are safe on the device. Press Reload. If it keeps happening, press Send feedback and say what you were doing.
- “Connect to the internet to get your things”: the first time on a device, Snod needs a connection once. Connect, then press Try again.
Google Play says Snod doesn’t work on your phone? Email us your phone’s make and model and its Android version, and we’ll look into it.
